I am now an Art major. I also want to be a librarian when I grow up. But I'll always be an artist. I can't help it!
During the spring semester of university I took a printmaking class and a drawing class, and learned a lot from both. I've just uploaded some prints from printmaking, and some stuff from my sketchbook from drawing class. I will add some of the bigger projects from drawing later. I am also taking a Figure and Life Drawing class this summer (and later a political science class) so I should have plenty more works to show you from that!
During the last semester I have noticed, like in painting class, more trends that I seem to be interested in:
I love conceptual art. I find its dry humour incredibly appealing.
I like the idea of creating rules or guidelines and following them through- "Draw A Breath" was one of those (though it was for class), and I have been fooling around with ink on wet paper, too.
I like the idea of creating art while exploring media, which I seem to be doing much more than I used to. In the past I generally would get a mental flash of the image I wanted to make and I would recreate that flash onto paper however I thought was appropriate. I still do that, but the flashes are less frequent now so I'm really enjoying the idea and method of letting the media create the image.
It seems that I am exploring the relationship between the artist and the media in the creation of an image! Tango: but who leads?
Yours,
-LE.

"An artist isn't someone who drags a brush across a canvas, or writes a song or dance or whatever. An artist is someone who comes back from a dream or a nightmare and tells us what they saw."
